Re-think, Re-evaluate, Re-calibrate
Now that the world has slowed down to nearly a complete stand still, this is the perfect time to play catch up. Re-think and Re-evaluate and Re-Calibrate yourself.
Catch up on some reading, catch up on finding yourself, catch up on avoiding people, catch up on your business obligations, catch up on some family time, sleep, spend quality time with your significant other, catch up on more ways to make money, enhance your survival tactics, catch up on your dreams. Re-think and Re-evaluate and Re-Calibrate yourself.
To many, the lockdown is the worst thing to happen in the last decade. Stock markets are crashing, businesses are closed down, food is running low, alcohol consumption and purchases including tobacco is restricted. Everybody is in a state of panic instead of realising that this is a blessing and a curse with an opportunity.
Rethink
The choices and decisions that you intend to make. This may sound harsh but what better way to jolt the mind to respond than to attack it directly? Rethinking intentions only leads to being more tactful and mindful of what it is you aim to accomplish and most importantly, brings total awareness to your own actions. How often have you said and done things that you regret? How often do you wish you had not rushed into a decision without taking into consideration your ability to stop for a moment and think things though? The beauty of it now is that time has stopped, metaphorically speaking, and it is to your advantage.
Take chapter 1 of The Roadtrip: A Self-guide to Success, Planning the Trip. Yes, I know you are on lockdown, you aren’t going anywhere unless you want to end up doing frog leaps, laps around your car and rolling around on the ground.
The trip I’m referring to is the Roadtrip that you about to take through your own mind. To some, this is a dark place. To some, it’s the one place that we run away from because it’s our greatest fear. Often, to some people, the mind is a foreign space because they don’t know how their minds work and don’t understand themselves. The way I see it, there’s no better time to get better acquainted.
Re-evaluate
The plans already rolled out and your current position In conjunction to where you want to be and what you want to achieve.
Ever worked on something and just when you thought you were done, during the final review process, you realise that there is something that you forgot, made a small error or missed out on a crucial element? You feel the frustration brewing, you curse at yourself for being an idiot and then get right back at it to correct your sloppy ways?
The whole purpose of re-evaluation is to ensure that there are no mistakes, no mishaps and that everything is as close to perfection as possible. It’s very hard to fail when you eliminate all the options that could bring upon failure from your realm of thought and action.
It’s also very hard not to succeed when you have taken every element which would lead you to success into consideration and refined them over and over again. With that, take this time to do some introspection and pay attention to detail.
You probably could be doing better than what you are now but you just don’t see it. You are probably missing out on something special that’s right in front of you that could change your world as you know it.
Re-Calibrate
The final step would be to take corrective measures from what you attained in the previous two steps.
This, depending on the situation, could be easy or be a very tedious task. Obviously nothing from here on would be easy but the real question is, how bad do you want to be a better person, be in a better position, have a happier family, have more money in your bank account, have a competitive edge, cope with yourself and achieve your dreams. How bad do you want to live up to your full potential.
