This is a book of self-motivation that focuses on how we achieve our goals and the challenges we face – either interpersonal, intrapersonal or environmental – that prevent us from attaining our objectives.
It is a book that exploits the most basic weaknesses and fears that hinder us daily whenever we reach out for our goals and desired success. The Road Trip is a guide to overcoming these challenges, weaknesses, and fears in the most proactive of manners.
It is a book written for the sole purpose of boosting your self-confidence as well as instilling a sense of belief in your own efforts and abilities. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it, plan accordingly and execute relentlessly.
Whether it is business ventures, studies, overcoming depression and anxiety, or just to find your sense of self, this book caters for all your needs – and beyond. The common misconception is that success is a direct result of financial gain, fame, job security, property ownership, etc.
This, I believe, is only a narrow perspective of what true success is. We are often put under pressure because of this common societal belief, which rarely allows us to see our own successes, and achievements unless they are aligned with money, fame, etc.
The stigma that is imposed on us (and that we impose on others) when this form of success is not achieved is ultimately what kills willpower. Perhaps with this book, this can change; perhaps we can realize that true success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
This can be anything you personally set yourself to do. Nobody has the authority to determine whether you are successful or not. Society has no grounds to do such. Only you know the level of your ambition and success.
Others may recognise your true potential when you do not: Let that be your starting point from now and onwards as well because that is something different and it is always refreshing to be enlightened of such.
The practicality of this book is camouflaged by a road trip, something that many of us are familiar with especially during holidays and festive seasons. The road trip is used metaphorically to describe the typical goal-setting strategies, plans, challenges, morals, values, priorities, precautions and to-do’s when perusing success.
By using this activity to transfer the message, I hope that you can somewhat understand, decipher and relate to what you will learn so that you can apply it in your own life. I truly wish that you enjoy the read and gain some insight that will make your life easier in achieving your goals and the success that you wish to attain.
